Learning Objectives
knowledge and skills: critical knowledge of direct and indirect sources of the tradition; discussion on medical ethics; critical analysis of texts as sources for the history od reading and book diffusioni
Prerequisites
good knowledge of ancient Greek and of the history of ancient greek medicine (see general essays in the bibliography)
Teaching Methods
introductive lectures followed by seminars in which students will read and discuss directly the texts; individual researches.
Further information
students of the curriculum filologico letterario (Filologia classica, 12 cfu) will follow the first and the second part; students of the curriculum storico (Filologia e storia della scienza antica, 6 cfu) will follow only the second part.
All will be requested to read essays in english or other european language.
Type of Assessment
There are different ways of checking the acquired knowledge and the related skills:a) a dialogue which verifys the student's ability in summarizing and elaborating arguments
b) oral account of an individual research in class
c) translation and commentary of some greek passages
