Title: E.T.A. Hoffmann and Italy: theatre, painting, music, cities.
We will analyse the very great importance that Italian culture has in E.T.A. Hoffmann's work (commedia dell'arte, Italian paintings of the Renaissance, opera buffa), with special regard to those Italian cities (Rome, Naples, Venice) that make up the setting of some very famous tales of the great German writer.
