Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide a basic formation regarding the link between language and meaning presented in relation to the linguistic processes and the communicative ones. Specifically knowledges about the language acquisition and second language and foreign language learning are presented. Finally, the course stimulates the reflection on the school as a place of personal and social education in which the language is the preferred means of communication and training.

The attendance is obligatory in at least 2/3 of the course.
Type of Assessment
Oral mode (possibly completed by a written final relation - optional - for attending students). The exam concerns the fundamental points of the program, specifically the relation between language and thought, language and culture, communication and language; the aim is to verify the knowledge acquired in the different contents of the lectures by the students and their ability of using these notions in critical and autonomous manner. In this perspective, the expressive capacities and the ability in appropriately combining theoretical models and real phenomena are considered.
Course program
At the present day the Italian school is the institutional context within which the migration is the most noticeable character and where the contact between different languages, cultures and identities is electively made. The education is the indispensable tool for the understanding and meanings production; that is why we need the language to encourage the development of intercultural communicative competence.
