Learning Objectives
The course will examine the diffusion of King Pedro I 'The Cruel' in the Spanish literature. Along with narrative texts and poetry, we will explore how some of the masterpieces of the Spanish Golden Age Theatre (i.e. plays by Lope de Vega) and of the Federico García Lorca's 'Poema del Cante Jondo'.
Prerequisites
A good knowledge of Spanish language and basic notions of philology are required.
Teaching Methods
Lectures.
Type of Assessment
Oral examination
The final examination, oral, will examine:
1 ) Knowledge of the basic notions of Spanish literary history of XVI - XX centuries.
2 ) The complete reading and critically aware of the texts.
An incomplete preparation of any of these two points will not allow to pass the exam.

KING Pedro I 'The Cruel' in the Spanish literature: from the History to the myth
The course will examine the diffusion of King Pedro I 'The Cruel' in the Spanish literature. Along with narrative texts and poetry, we will explore how some of the masterpieces of the Spanish Golden Age Theatre (i.e. plays by Lope de Vega) and of the Federico García Lorca's Poema del Cante Jondo.
