The Course focus on the topic of Pedagogy of Care, by clarifying its meaning in relation to educational professionalism and contexts where the vocational educator will get professionally involved. Particular attention will be paid to deepen some relevant study cases in relation to the childhood

Learning Objectives
The goals are formulated according to Dublin descriptors:
1) Knowledge and understanding: to know the theoretical framework in which the “Care”, as concept, is included, and to be able to recognize the dimension of the Care with reference to the different age groups;
2) applied knowledge and understanding skills: to be able to recognize the need of Care, as it manifest itself, at an individual and group level, and also within institutions;
3) autonomy of judgment: to be able to recognize the different contexts in which the need of educational Care may emerge;
4) communicative skills: to be able to use the various languages involved in the Care-relationship;
5) learning skills: to be able to design educational-training activities based on the concept of “Care”, in order to effectively meet subjects’ educational and training needs.

Type of Assessment
The exam is written, in the form of a 15 closed-ended questions questionnaire on the textbooks in program, and 5 open-ended questions about the same textbooks and on the materials uploaded on MOODLE virtual class. Students are required to answer the questionnaire on the morning of the exam session itself, having a 60 minutes ad disposal. If correct, to closed-ended questions will be assigned a score of 1; if correct, to open-ended questions will be assigned a score from 0 to 3 points per question. For the attending students, some verifications tests will also take place during the Course, once topics and issues of the texts will have been deeply covered. Non-attending students are required to comply with the general procedures described here above.
Course program
The Course, in its first part, focuses on the issue of Pedagogical Care, by clarifying its meaning and illustrating the main theories about. Special attention will be paid to the analysis of some relevant study cases in relation to the different age groups, thus guiding students to obtain a correct understanding of the concept of Care, in relation to the various educational contexts. Finally, the Course provides design skills for planning and carrying out interventions based on the idea of educational Care within a systemic approach.
