Module 1 CFU (Prof. Ciucci) within the course of Psychology for Disabilities and Developmental Disturbances: Slides that will be put on moodle platform; they have been elaborated starting from chapter 6:

The slides also contain two exercises; students must choose one and realize it individually at home. This exercise will receive an evaluation by Prof. Ciucci.

The program of Psychology of Disability in Development aims to provide the student with knowledge about the current studies on the psychology of children and adolescents with disabilities, understanding their everyday life and making hypothesis about the rehabilitation.
- Applying knowledge and understanding
▶The topics will be covered with particular attention to the practical aspects relating to the assessment and intervention habilitation and rehabilitation. The course will provide students with the skills to identify the core features of the psychological problems of different disabilities in the various stages of life. Being aware of the needs of people with disabilities, the need to integrate the actions, the difficult relationship between expectations / realization / realistic budgets.
▶ These skills will be acquired through the presentation of the main instruments of assessment and intervention for people with disabilities.
- Making Judgements
▶ Particular emphasis will be given to understand the importance of implementing evidence-based treatments.
▶ This topic will be discussed considering some recent contributions of psychological research.
- Communication skills
▶ The course will provide students with the necessary knowledge to conduct interviews with people with disabilities, their families and other figures that revolve around children and adolescents with disabilities.
- Learning skills
▶The course will provide students with the learning methodology: theoretical knowledge based on the recent literature, knowledge of evidence based instruments, simulation and application.

- Knowledge and understanding.
Module 1 CFU (Prof. Ciucci) aims to provide the student with understanding the everyday life of children and adolescents with disabilities in family and in socio-educational contexts and with understanding the needs of children, parents and educators.
- Applying knowledge and understanding
Module 1 CFU (Prof. Ciucci) will provide students with the skills to identify the needs of people supporting children and adolescent with disabilities and problems. Such skills will be gained by presenting and reflecting on videos and/or collecting interviews with parents or educators of children with disabilities or problems. The participation of professional figures involved in the inclusion of children and adolescents with disabilities/adjustment problems will be likely.
- Making Judgements
Module 1 CFU (Prof. Ciucci) will provide students with the necessary knowledge to surf and examine the available knowledge repositories (including research articles or book chapters, websites, video material) and to communicate content and reflections about them.
- Communication skills
Module 1 CFU (Prof. Ciucci) will provide students with the necessary knowledge to listening and to build effective relationships with people with disabilities and/or their family and/or professional figures that revolve around children and adolescents with disabilities or adjustment problems; to collect and interpret information useful for carrying out their professional activity by writing reports.

Module 1 CFU (Prof. Ciucci) will provide students with the learning methodology based on reading, understanding and critical selection of texts, documents and other qualitative and quantitative sources.

Written report about one of the two exercises performed at home and listed in the slides loaded on moodle. The report must be submitted to enrica.ciucci@unifi.it simultaneously with the apply for the examination. The positive evaluation of the report will result in the addition of up to two points to the oral test which will be realized by Prof. Bigozzi.
- Applying knowledge and understanding
The ability to respond correctly to the delivery of the exercise will be verified.
- Making judgements
The student's ability to justify the interpretative choices of the material found during the exercise performed at home will be verified through the contents of the written reports.

Use of a correct and appropriate vocabulary used in written report of the exercise.

During the oral exam by Prof. Bigozzi, the basic knowledge necessary to work as a technician in Psychology for disabilities & developmental disturbances will be tested.
