Course Content
Module 1: acquisition of the foundations of the discipline according to the evidence based perspective; knowledge of the national and international classifications, recommendations, rules.
Module 2: knowledge, evaluation, design of effective applications for integration / inclusion, with a special focus on new technologies.

Learning Objectives
The goals are outlined on the basis of the Dublin descriptors:
1. Knowledge and understanding: to know and how to steer between the fundamentals of special pedagogy under an evidence based perspective; to know the classifications and the main national and international regulations to integration / inclusion processes; to know effective methodologies and tools in the field of special pedagogy, with particular reference to the new technologies;
2. Applying knowledge and understanding: to define effective paths supported by technologies in the field of special pedagogy;
3. Making judgements: to evaluate good practices in the field of special pedagogy;
4. Communication skills: to communicate the key factors that characterize the effectiveness of an intervention of special pedagogy, especially if supported by new technologies;
5. Learning skills: to build an autonomous research path about effective methodologies and tools in special pedagogy; to transfer theoretical knowledge into empirical contexts.
Prerequisites
Good capability to read and understand scientific articles.
Good writing skills.
Good knowledge of the English language.
Good knowledge of general pedagogy.
Teaching Methods
Euristyc lessons, collaborative work, project work.
Resources and activities through Moodle platform integrate the face-to-face lessons.
Type of Assessment
Attending: the assessment is based on an in-itinere report production and on a final questionnaire (with open and closed questions). Instructions and evaluation criteria are detailed in Moodle.
Not attending: the assessment is based on a report delivered in Moodle one month before the exam and on a final questionnaire (with open and closed questions). Instructions and evaluation criteria are detailed in Moodle.
To pass the exam it is necessary to have obtained at least the sufficiency in each of the tests.
