Erasmus+ Teaching Staff Mobility (STA)
The Erasmus+ Teaching Staff (STA) mobility programme allows teaching staff to carry out a teaching period (minimum 8 teaching hours) at a foreign university that has signed a bilateral agreement with the University (it does not matter whether the agreement is with our School).
Eligible teaching categories for STA mobility are:
- Researchers
- Associate Professors
- Full Professors
- Adjunct Professors
Notes on filling out the documentation
Available destinations
Before departure
To allow for the correct administrative preparation of the mission, you must submit the mission request through the mission portal at least one month before the start of the mobility period. These documents will be shared with the relevant office at the FORLILPSI Department, which is responsible for processing payment.
-
Mission Authorisation Request: this must be completed via the new mission portal. The fund manager for Erasmus missions is, for everyone, the President, Prof. Zago. (Enter “Erasmus Funds 2024” in the notes.)
-
Teaching Mobility Agreement (TA): must be completed in all its parts, countersigned by the Host University, and uploaded to the mission portal.
-
Financial Agreement for Staff Mobility: must be completed in full and digitally countersigned, then sent to the School’s Erasmus Office. Leave blank the final section “For the Institution”, as this refers to the University of Florence. Here is the form to be used for all missions carried out after 01.06.2024.
- All required forms can be found on the intranet. Log in with your credentials, then go to: personale docente e ricercatore outgoing > internazionalizzazione > modulistica.
Upon return from the mission
You must submit the following documentation to the School’s Erasmus Office:
-
Teaching Staff Mobility Certificate: the host institution must issue, at the end of the mobility period, a certificate on official letterhead, stamped and signed by the Host University. It must clearly state the mission's start and end dates, the lesson dates, and the number of teaching hours (minimum 8 per week). Here is the certificate template, which must be printed on the host institution’s letterhead (or you may use the host institution’s own form, provided all required information is included).
-
Expense Reimbursement Request: completed, signed, and accompanied by all original receipts. Reimbursement will be processed on an actual-expense basis (a piè di lista). If submitting receipts for meals, the Declaration for meal expenses must be filled in.
-
Individual Report: completed online as instructed in the email sent to the teaching staff member, within 30 days from receipt of that email.
The mobility period at a foreign institution must last at least 2 days and no more than 2 months, with a minimum of 8 teaching hours per week.
If the mobility lasts longer than one full week, the minimum number of teaching hours for the additional days must be calculated as follows: 8 hours divided by 5, multiplied by the number of additional days.
The Certificate issued by the Host Institution at the end of the mobility must certify the actual start and end dates of the teaching period abroad.
The University of Florence reimburses expenses in accordance with its mission regulations, while respecting the EU ceilings for travel and subsistence. Teaching staff may choose whether or not to receive reimbursement for travel expenses.
- If they do not request reimbursement, the travel is not included in the calculation of the mobility duration.
- If they do request reimbursement, travel must take place on the day immediately before the start date of the mobility and the day immediately after the end date. These two additional days are then included in the overall mobility duration and therefore count towards the calculation of individual support.
IMPORTANT: The maximum reimbursement amounts for travel and subsistence will be calculated based on the technical guidelines indicated in Annex III.
