Learning Objectives
The course provides a historical knowledge on the evolution of radio and television, and offers tools for analysis of radio and television broadcasts and for the understanding of audiovisual language and the cultural study of the relationship between media, and in particular between radio, television and film.
Prerequisites
The course requires registration to the Moodle e-learning Platform; the key entry will be announced at the beginning of the lessons. The study materials published therein, and in particular the links to movies, are an integral part of the study program.
The course B020710-History of radio and television is a single course of 12 credits (72 hours). Students of previous years (courses of Storia e analisi del linguaggio cine-televisivo, Storia della radio e della televisione, Storia e critica del cinema 2, etc.) should contact the teacher and agree on a specific program once assessed the study plan and frequency. Non-attending students will be not admitted to the final exam if they didn't agree a special program with the teacher during front desk hours.

Type of Assessment
The course, as required by DM 17, need attendance certificated on the register of signatures: for access to examination students must have gained at least 75% of lessons i.e. 54 hours). The exam consists of a written test on 3-4 open questions. For sufficiency it is compulsory to answer all. Anyone wishing to take the exam in oral form should agree a written report with the teacher.

Part-time students
Part time students, if they did not attend, they must substitute the hours of attendance by adding the text P. Valentini, Presenze sonore. Il passaggio al sonoro in Italia tra cinema e radio, Le Lettere, Firenze 2007 (everything except: Introduction - Chapter 2 - Chapter 6).
