the course will provide an outline of the history of Chinese literature from its origins (3000 a.C.) to the establishment of the people republic of China (1949)

Learning Objectives
the course will introduce and guide the student across ancient and modern Chinese literature, beginning with the origin of the Chinese script and the first traces of Chinese literature, ending with Modern Chinese literature.

Type of Assessment
At the end of the course, trhough an oral conversation, the professors will evaluate the leveel of knowledge of the student about the main features of the history and critics of Chinese ancient and modern literature.
Course program
From Jjiaguwen to the May 5th movement. A journey thoroughout the main events of Chinese history and literature (poetry, prose, theatre, fiction and so on) before the foundation of Chinese People Republic.
