Oral exam. It bigins with the discussion on the subject chosen by the student, proceeding to the general knowledge of the period in question.
Course program
The Course intends to provide the students with the foundamental notions of Japanese Literature in the medieval and pre-modern period. It discusses in particular the important works such as Heike monogatari, Shin Kokinshu, Hojoki, Tsurezuregusa e No dramma, and the authors like Ihara Saikaku, Matsuo Basho, Chikamatsu Monzaemon and so on.
