Learning Objectives
Knowledge objectives:
The course aims to provide the relevant knowledges on the language acquisition and second language or foreign language learning and to stimulate the reflection regarding the school as a place of personal and social education in which the language is the preferred means of communication and training. Specifically, the course aims at enhancing the formation about the link between language and its use in the identitary perspective.
Competence objectives: students have to master the concepts and notions acquired durung the course.
Behaviour objectives:
The course aims to stimulate the students to use consciusely university structure, including the management of the student career. Moreover, the course intends to encourage the students to actively partecipate in lessons and in the student-teacher relationship. Finally, it will favour the civil use of the University resources.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledges in the differents fields of linguistics are an important support in order to enter into the contents of course.

The attendance is obligatory in at least 2/3 of the course.
Type of Assessment
Oral mode (possibly completed by a written final relation - optional). Specifically the exam will concern: 1) acquisition and learning; 2) educational linguistics - the following issues will be object of the exam: grammar and metalinguistic competence, lexicon and semantics, pragmatics, special languages; 3) approaches and methods in L2 teaching; 4) linguistic identity and the relation between language and culture. The aim is to verify the knowledge acquired in the different contents of the lectures by the students and their ability of using these notions in critical and autonomous manner. It is necessary that the student shows an adequate knowledge of each topic among the ones discussed during the lessons. In this perspective, the expressive capacities and the ability in appropriately combining theoretical models and real phenomena are considered. The final evaluation will be fixed depending on the addition of the singular exam issues.
Course program
At the present day the Italian school is the institutional context within which the migration is the most noticeable character and where the contact between different languages, cultures and identities is electively made. The education is the indispensable tool for the understanding and meanings production; that is why we need the language to encourage the development of intercultural communicative competence.
