Through the detailed study of some novels, in the course will be analysed the idea of Utopia, Sentiment and Reason in the French Literature of XVIII century

Learning Objectives
The course objective is to offer students an introduction to the most significant aspects of French literature of XVIII century and to develop their critical consciousness
Prerequisites
Basic Knowlwdge of French language (allowing proper comprehension of french texts)

Type of Assessment
Oral exam in italian or french (at student's choice) with evaluation of the following items:
- cultural knowledge (40/100);
- argumentation ability (40/100);
- original approach to the subject (20/100)
The exam aims to verify the following learning abilities:
-knowledge of French literature relating to the century involved in the course subject;
- argumentative elaboration level of the critical essays;
- knowledge of the general subject of the course and personal elaboration of the subjects themselves
