The course aims to provide general and specific knowledge about the history, language, production techniques and art forms of film.
Knowledge and understanding: advanced knowledge of the film history and understanding of narrative forms and styles of each period
Applying knowledge and understanding: basic knowledge of history of cinema and understanding of film styles and techniques.
Making judgements: basic analytical skills in the field of film history.
Communication skills: use of correct terms relating to film history and cinematic language.
Learning skills: independent use of analytical tools for the study of cinematic narration and film style.

Type of Assessment
Written examination with open questions. It lasts three hours (9-12) and consists of three open questions (four for not attending students). Before handing over the written exam the student can withdraw and present itself again in the next exame date.
Students not enrolled on the Moodle platform of the course can’t take the exam.
It is allowed the use of printed dictionaries but no digital support: all technological devices (cellphones, smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) must be handed in before the start of the session. It will be returned as soon as the student leave the examination hall.
If a student is found in possession of notes or other material not allowed, the exam will be immediately annulled and the student can’t participate in the following session.
Within a week, the examination will be evaluate and the student will be warned with an email of its outcome, verbalized by the teacher on the computer system. The student may accept or reject the vote and participate in the following session. If the exam was not passed, the vote will not be verbalized and the student will participate in the following. In case of failure to view and acceptance of the vote, the outcome will be recorded automatically by the computer system within 7 days of verbalization.
It will be possible to verbalize the booklet and collect signatures (foreign students) at every call and following the receipt of the minutes on the computer system of the University.
