The course aims to present and discuss the main questions of the history and historiography of fascism in Italy, with particular attention to the aspects that have marked the historiographical debate in the last thirty years.

Learning Objectives
KNOWLEDGE OBJECTIVES: to learn the Knowledge of the most relevant themes and problems of the contemporary Italian history, with particular attention to history and historiography of Fascism.
SKILL OBJECTIVES:
- knowledge of the most important historiography on the Italian Contemporary history

- to encourage critical reflection on the origin of some key-aspects of our present

Mandatory inscription before the course begins and a mandatory frequence for almost 24 hours.
Type of Assessment
The exam consists in an oral discussion for the Erasmus, other exchange program and distance learning students too. The exam consists in two following tests: 1. oral presentation during the course on a topic chosen among those proposed by the teacher; 2. final oral examination on one book chosen from bibliography that will be provided during the course. The final evaluation consists of all the assessments obtained in the two parts. The exam aims to verify: - the knowledge and the understanding of the main events, processes and problematic nodes of the Contemporary history and its periodization - the knowledge of the relative historiography and principal interpretative categories proposed to describe the Contemporary Italian history.
