Course Content
The Brazilian concrete poetry and the Portuguese experimental poetry: an intercultural and interartistic European and extra-European voyage.The course aims to describe both Brazilian concrete poetry and Portuguese experimental poetry, together with their interconnetion with visual and figurative arts and European and extra-European cultures. These notions will be explained during the course through an accurate selection of intertextual and ecfrastic poetic texts of 20th Century.

Learning Objectives
The course is addressed to the students of Magistrale and it aims: 1.to expand students’ knowledge of the Portuguese and Brazilian literature of the second half of 20th Century; 2.to give students critical instruments for the analysis of ecfrastic poetic texts in the Portuguese language; 3.to improve their knowledge on the topic of the course through group researches and to improve their intellectual participation exchanging views with teacher and other students.

Knowledge of Portuguese and other European languages (English, French, Spanish)

72 hours – 12 credits – I semester. Part-time students are pleased to contact the titular professor. Attendance is required for at least 2/3rds of the course.
Type of Assessment
The exam is oral and it concerns questions on the topic of the course, including the bibliographic references indicated in the program. The exam aims to verify:
-the knowledge of the basic-concepts of the Portuguese and Brazilian literature of the second half of 20th Century;
-the ability to describe poetic texts in their historical and cultural context;
-the ability to read and explain the texts analysed during the course with fluency, critical competence and theoretical consciousness.
