Learning Objectives
The course aims at:
- Deepening in the analysis of an oral text in Spanish. Also creating the ability to compare an oral text Italian and Spanish becoming aware of different levels of speech analysis.
- Teaching students how to face audiovisual translation (dubbing).
- helping the student to achieve the communicative competence of C 1 level in the CEFRL.
Prerequisites
The course is intended for students who already have a fine mastery of the Spanish language.
Its fundamental pre-requisites are:
a) a fine command of the Italian language;
b) a very good, confident command of the Spanish language (B2 + level in the CEFRL);
c) excellent reading and listening comprehension of various kinds of documents in Spanish;
d) the capability to undertake small research projects concerning linguistic problems autonomously and to carefully read critical works about language (which do not require highly specialized knowledge) and understand the details and the implications;
g) the capability to use word processing computer programmes as well as to navigate through the Internet Web freely for research purposes, evaluating the quality of the information found with a critical attitude.
Teaching Methods
The course is divided into closely related parts:
- Theoretical part and practical part.
Empirical acquisition of the classification studied after the systematic consultation of the classifications made on a vast number of texts of the spontaneous spoken language. And learning by comparison between Spanish and Italian; translation for dubbing.
- use of the language in natural contexts (comprehension and written and oral expression) at the C 1 level in the CEFRL.
- guided self-learning.
These areas have been planned globally and are not alternatives. Each of them presupposes the work done in the others.
The institutional course will be organized in:
- Course: Grammar and reflection on the functioning of the audiovisual translation;
- Lettorato: Communicative level C1 in the CEFRL.
- Self-learning.
The course takes place with classroom lectures (15 hours prof. NIcolás, 15 hours prof. Solís). For the study of the language, 75 hours of activities in the classroom and language labs with native-speaker language experts (lettorato) and 40 hours of self-teaching activity guided by the chair are provided.
The course lasts the whole academic year. The lectures by Prof. Carlota Nicolás are helded in the first semester, by prof. Solís García in the second one, whereas the "lettorato" are held in both semesters of the academic year by teachers Clara Cancho Sopena e Francisca Torrente Sánchez Guisande.
Attendance mode: attendance at the course and practical classroom is decisive. Students who can not attend classes for serious reasons must agree with the teacher supplementary educational activities.

Type of Assessment
The exam of the course consists of - a final oral test on audiovisual translation (dubbing). Prof. Solís (50/100)
- Group and individual work and classroom exposure. Delivery of works after its presentation and correction. Final oral exam. (prof. Nicolás) 50/100.
To participate in the oral exam the student must register online a first time and a second one when he / she has completed the course with the “lettorato”. The “lettorato” is preparatory for passing the institutional course and consists of written and oral comprehension tests and written and oral production tests aimed at assessing the awareness of one's own errors and the ability to self-correct (C 1 level in the CEFRL).

Active participation of the students is required, so that the contribute to the lessons with their written work as well as with their oral presentation.
