Learning Objectives
The individual acquisition of a critical capacity in respect of the history of the Theatres and theatrical spaces in Florence.
KNOWLWDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
Knowledge of the history of the Theatres and theatrical spaces in Florence.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
Know –according to a contextual view- the main features of the History of the theatrical architecture.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS:
Developing of critical judgement.
COMUNICATION SKILL:
use of proper terms of the theatrical architecture.
LEARNING SKILLS:
Develop the learning skills, which are essential, in order to carry on the studies critically and autonomously.
Prerequisites
The laboratory is intended for those students taking the “Storia del teatro e dello spettacolo” course given this year by Prof. Renzo Guardenti.

An on site contextual and multilinear approach to the Theatres and theatrical spaces in Florence.

The organization of the workshop will be agreed on between teacher and students.
Type of Assessment
Oral test. The student will be examined on the course contents and on the required readings.
Course program
Workshop. The lexicon of the theatrical architecture. The scenografic lexicon. Inspection in the main Theatres (e.g. Teatro della Pergola, Teatro Niccolini) and theatrical spaces of Florence (e.g. courtyard of Palazzo Pitti, amphitheater of the Boboli Garden).
