Course Content
The Portuguese-Arabian literature. The course aims to offer an exhaustive historical and cultural view about the Portuguese-Arabian literature since the medieval age, focusing on the poetic and aphoristic work of Adalberto Alves (Portuguese and Arabian poet, translator and essayst of contemporary age).

Learning Objectives
The course is addressed to the students of Triennio and it aims: 1.to give a first approach to the Portuguese-Arabian literature; 2.to offer historical and cultural, stylistic and formal skills, to a better comprehension of the literary text; 3.to improve critical abilities through the lecture and the comprehension of a selection of the most important texts of the Portuguese-Arabian literature of contemporary age.
Prerequisites
It is requested an elementary knowledge of the Portuguese Language

72 hours – 12 credits – II semester. Part-time students are pleased to contact the titular professor. Attendance is required for at least 2/3rds of the course
Type of Assessment
The exam is oral and it concerns questions on the topic of the course, including the bibliographic references indicated in the program. The exam aims to verify:
-the knowledge of the basic-concepts of the Portuguese-Arabian literature;
-the ability to describe literary texts in their historical and cultural context;
-the ability to read and explain the texts analysed during the course with fluency, critical competence and theoretical consciousness;
-the ability to properly use the critical terminology
