Prerequisites
Students who intend to attend the course and consequently take the examination must have already acquired 12 CFUs in the performing arts disciplines, thus possessing a preparatory background in the subject.
Teaching Methods
Contextual and multilinear on-site approach to Italian theatres and theatre venues and knowledge of analogue and digital interpretative models of performance reconstruction.

The organisational arrangements for the workshop will be agreed between the teacher and the students.
Type of Assessment
Oral examination. The discussion will focus on the course content and bibliography.
Course program
1. Elements of the History of Theatre Space and Architecture; 2. The theatre in Medici Florence: guided tour of the performing arts venues; 3. Hypotheses for reconstructing Medici spectacle: the models at Pratolino; 4. The “Sala all’italiana”: a visit to the Niccolini Theatre, the Pergola Theatre and the Goldoni Theatre; 5. Virtual reconstructions of spectacle from the Baroque age to the 20th century; 6. Digital projects on cultural heritage.
