The Laboratory of theatrical disciplines examines through direct experience, seminars and the vision of video materials, the mimic method developed by Orazio Costa Giovangigli, director and theater pedagogue among the most relevant of the twentieth century. The students are offered literary and theatrical texts to interpret, a source of reflection and study: from the "Divine Comedy" to Shakespeare's "Hamlet", from Eliot's poems to passages chosen by the students themselves.
Excerpts from Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy" and Shakespeare's "Hamlet", poems by Caproni and Eliot as well as excerpts chosen by the students themselves.
An essential bibliography on Orazio Costa and the most relevant theatrical pedagogies between the 20th and 21st centuries will also be recommended.
Learning Objectives
In addition to the first-person experimentation of Orazio Costa's mimic method, the laboratory proposes the knowledge of other theatrical pedagogies that have marked the current theatrical scene.
