1. The Hispanic world: origin and linguistic geography of contemporary Spanish.
2. Introduction to the Spanish ortography. The Spanish accentuation.
3. Lexical aspects:
3.1. The lexical unit.
3.2. The word formation in Spanish.
3.3. The words and the dictionary.
3.4. Cultisms, vulgarisms, regionalisms, neologisms.
The practic section will concern text reading and lexical analysis; this section will be held by prof. Jacopo Caucci.

Learning Objectives
After an historical introduction, the course will focus on Spanish ortographical rules, especially on new accentuation rules proceedings by Real Academia Española. Lexical aspects will be taken into account as well: word formation, use of dictionary, linguistic codes.
Prerequisites
Attending classes of «Lectorado primer año» is mandatory.
Teaching Methods
The course include lectures as well as practice exercises focusing on ortography, accentuation and lexical aspects.
Type of Assessment
The final exam will consist in a written test.
