Learning Objectives
The course aims at imparting basic skills in evaluating the textual tradition of renowned Greek and Latin texts through different stages of ancient and medieval scholarship.
Prerequisites
A fairly good knowledge of ancient Greeg a nd Latin.
Teaching Methods
Classroom lectures dealing with the translation and philological discussion of selected and controversial passages of the Greek and Latin texts mentioned above and of the related evidence from ancient scholarship.
Type of Assessment
The final oral exam aims at verifying the student's philological knowledge of the texts and topics discussed throughout the course.

1- All the contents of the course (see above): handouts will be provided by the teacher.
2- Translation and philological discussion of passages from Aeschylus' Agamemnon
and/or the Corpus Caesarianum previously examined in the classroom.
